Move Repository File to Alternative Location

Backup Agent data is kept in a repository, which is a database index file stored on the local drive of user's computer. Repository is used to reduce the number of requests which Backup Agent sends to cloud storages. Physically, the repository is an SQLite database file.

The repository file name is cbbackup.db, which is located on the user's computer hard drive. By default, it is located in %All users% profile folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\[CompanyName]\Data

or, if you use Windows Vista/7/8/2008/2012, you can find your database index file in the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\[CompanyName]\Data

In some cases, the repository file size can grow significantly. If the repository file size exceeds the space on your local drive, you can move the repository to another location.

To Move the Repository File

  1. Run the Backup Agent. In Tools" menu, select Options.

  1. Switch to the Repository tab.
  2. Click the ... button to specify the new location for the repository.

Note that you should be granted with administrator privileges to change the repository file location.

On the Repository tab the current database size is displayed. To reduce it, click Shrink Database.
