Restore Backup Plan

In certain disaster recovery or data migration scenarios, you may need to restore a backup plan to the same or a different computer.

As of Management Console 8.5, you can restore deleted backup plans or duplicate existing ones on the same computer by creating a copy. This feature helps you to restore a backup plan in the new backup format as a copy on the computer where this backup plan was created.

This feature is supported for the new backup format only and requires Backup Agent 8.1.3 for Windows on the computer where you want to restore the backup plan. The following options are available depending on the selected computer:

• Restore a backup plan from another computer to the local computer. This method is intended to continue backups on a new computer.
• Restore a backup plan to the local computer. This method is intended to restore a deleted backup plan or to create a copy of the existing backup plan without a schedule.

Restore Backup Plan

To restore a backup plan, perform the following:

1. On the Backup > Computers page, click the online computer whose backup content you want to browse.
2. Click the Backup Storage tab on the side panel.
3. Select the backup storage containing the required backup plan.

4. Find the backup plan to restore in the list of backup plans on the required computer.

5. Expand the Restore button and select Restore backup plan.

6. Click Proceed to create a copy using the selected restore point. This initializes the backup plan copy creation on the local computer.

7. Open the backup plan to configure the schedule settings, and then save it.

8. The restore of the backup plan will be initialized. The restored plan appears on the Backup plans tab of the computer in Backup > Computers or Computers side panel. The name of the restored plan will contain the restore point timestamp.

6. Once the plan is restored, edit the restored plan to configure a schedule for it.
