Switch Editions

Manage Backup Service provides multiple editions of Backup Agent (on a license basis). Each edition offering different functionality and feature set. When you initially download the software via the Management Console, it prompts you to authenticate and select the required edition. Furthermore, if you want to try another edition, you can do that in just a few clicks provided that you have the required license to do that.

Change Edition in Management Console

To switch your current edition to a different one, proceed as follows:

  1. Open Management Console.

  2. In the RMM menu, select the Remote Management item.

  3. Find the required instance, then click Settings icon.

  4. Select Edit, then Edit Account

  5. Select the required edition in the Edition drop-down list.

Change Edition in Backup Agent

To change the edition, proceed as follows:

  1. Run Backup Agent.
  2. Open the application menu.
  3. Click Licensing, then select Change Edition.

  1. In the Product Edition drop-down menu, select the new Backup Agent edition.

  1. Once you are done, click OK. Backup Agent will be restarted with as the new edition.
