Restore Operations
Prerequisites for Restore Operations
Log in to the Dashboard:
- Log in to the Dashboard: Ensure that you’re logged into the Dashboard using the correct user account or an administrative account with the Global Admin Access option enabled. Some data types require that the account has specific sign-in and restore permissions, while others may only be restored by a domain administrator.
- Accessing the Dashboard: Typically, administrators and users, if allowed, access the Dashboard through the access link and have role-based access to restore operations. Administrators and permitted users can access the Dashboard through the designated access link and are granted role-based access to restore operations. The provider can access the dashboard icon on the Domains page, page but does not have access to backup content, making item-level restore operations unavailable.
Permissions:
- Account Permissions: Ensure the login account has the appropriate permissions set both in the backup application and on the service's side. The restore process will be halted without the correct permissions configured.
Licensing:
- Active Microsoft 365/Google Workspace Backup License Requirement: An active license is required to initiate most restore jobs, and in some cases, also for the account from which the data is being restored.
- SharePoint Licensing: The SharePoint/Teams/Shared Drives license supports both legacy and standard SharePoint licensing models, but the limitations of these models differ. Check licensing compatibility based on the model used to ensure successful restore operations.
How to Prevent Issues During Restore
- Wait Until Restore Completes: Do not attempt to remove, move, rename, or modify any objects (folders, items) during the restore process. Making changes to objects mid-restore can lead to failure of the restore task.
- Restarting a Failed Restore: If a restore fails, it is recommended to start a new restore process rather than attempting to restart the failed task.
