Administrator Permissions
Administrator permissions are easily configurable. Separate permissions allow configuring administrator roles with a significant level of flexibility.
Configure Permissions
To grant required permissions to an administrator, proceed as follows:
- Open the Management Console.
- In the Organization, select Administrators.
- Find the administrator to configure or create a new one.
- Switch to the Permissions tab.
- Select/unselect the required permission check boxes.
- When you're done, click Save.
The table below contains all possible permissions that administrators can be granted:
Permission | Description |

Active Directory Server | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage Active Directory settings. To learn more, refer to the Using Active Directory Accounts chapter |
Manage Administrators | Admins granted this permission are allowed to create and manage administrator roles. To learn more, refer to the Manage Administrators chapter |
Audit Log | Admins granted this permission are allowed to view the audit log page. To learn more, refer to the Audit Log chapter |
Backup History | To learn more, refer to the Backup History chapter |
Billing | Admins granted this permission are allowed to view and manage billing settings. To learn more, refer to the Billing chapter |
Capacity Report | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage storage usage and capacity reports. To learn more, refer to the Storage Usage chapter |
Manage Restore to Cloud | Admins granted this permission are allowed to Cloud Restore feature. To learn more, refer to the Restore to EC2 Instance chapter |
Show Dashboard on Homepage | Admins granted this permission are shown the Management Console dasboard on start |
Show Downloads | Admins granted with this permission can access the Downloads menu in the Management Console |
Manage Branding | Admins granted this permission are allowed to view and manage rebranding settings. To learn more, refer to the Rebranding section |
Manage Microsoft 365/Google Workspace | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage G Suite and Office 365 |
Show Help / Marketing Materials | Admins granted this permission are allowed to access this help documentation |
Manage Licenses | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage license policies. To learn more, refer to the Manage Licenses chapter |
Buy Licenses | Admins granted this permission are allowed to purchase licenses. To learn more, refer to the Manage Licenses chapter |
Activate License Key | Admins granted this permission are allowed to activate licenses. To learn more, refer to the Manage Licenses chapter |
License Usage History | Admins granted this permission are allowed to view license usage history and create reports. To learn more, refer to the License Usage chapter |
Manage Companies | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage companies. To learn more, refer to the Companies chapter |
Monitoring | Admins granted this permission are allowed to view the monitoring page. To learn more, refer to the Monitoring chapter |
Manage Notifications | Admins granted this permission are allowed to access the Settings -> Notifications feature. To learn more, refer to the Configure Email Notifications chapter |
Manage Online Access | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage online data access. To learn more, refer to the Online Access chapter |
PSA (ConnectWise / Autotask / OptiTune) | Admins granted this permission are allowed to integrate Managed Backup with third-party solutions. To learn more, refer to the Integrations section |
Manage Storage Limits | Admins granted this permission are allowed to create, edit and delete storage limits. Read more about storage limits in the Storage Limits section |
Purchase History | Admins granted with this permission are allowed to access Organization -> Purchase History data |
Manage Remote Deploy | Admins granted this permission are allowed to configure remote deployments. To learn more, refer to the Deployment of Configurations and Rules chapter |
Remote Management | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage users' and companies' settings remotely and have access to the Computers grids. To learn more, refer to the Management chapter |
Quick Restore App | Admins granted this permission are allowed to use Quick Restore application. To learn more, refer to the Quick Restore chapter |
Remote Connection | This permission allows using Connect as a solution for remote access and management of users' computers. Requires Remote Management permission enabled to use Connect from Management console. To learn more, refer to the Connect section |
Direct (Authorized) Access for Connect | This permission allows pre-authorize joining all active sessions without any additional confirmation by remote computer user. Requires Remote Connection permission enabled. To learn more, refer to the Direct Access section |
Manage Backup Templates | This permission allows the administrator to perform configuration management with backup templates. To learn more, refer to the Manage Configurations section |
Deep Instinct | This permission allows the administrator to configure the Deep Instinct protection solution for users' computers. To learn more, refer to the Connect section |
Manage Storage Accounts | Admins granted this permission are allowed to create and manage storage accounts. To learn more, refer to the Storage Accounts chapter |
Manage Object Lock | Administrators granted this permission are allowed to create buckets with Object Lock (Immutability) feature and create and edit backup plans with Object lock. To learn more, refer to the Object Lock (Immutability) chapter |
Storage Usage Reports | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage storage usage reports. To learn more, refer to the Storage Usage chapter |
Manage Users | Admins granted this permission are allowed to create, edit and delete users. Also they can assign storage destinations that are assigned to the company that cantains the users and set the storage limits for the users. Enable or disable this permission according to the required permission set |
Create / Edit Users | Admins granted this permission are allowed to create new users and edit existing ones. This permission is inheritable, i.e, if the Manage Users permission is not granted, this permission cannot be granted as well |
Delete Users | Admins granted this permission are allowed to delete existing users. This permission is inheritable, i.e, if the Manage Users permission is not granted, this permission cannot be granted as well |
Manage Tag Assignment | Admins granted this permission are allowed to manage existing tags: assign and remove them for computers. To learn more, refer to the Manage Tags chapter |
Full Tag Management | Admins granted this permission are allowed to create, assign, edit, and delete tags. To learn more, refer to the Manage Tags chapter |
